Birthed in January 2014, the idea for MUCHOMAS Chocolate was seeded in the northern mountainous region of Nicaragua. A year later, Team MUCHOMAS is returning to Matagalpa, Nicaragua to spend time with our friend, Giff, and learn more about the region’s rich history of cacao farming.
We are spending time with farmers that have cultivated the same family ranches (Fincas en español) for over a century and are learning the nuances of cacao farming.
With many ant attacks, occasional downpours, and some seriously scratched legs from the brush, we are already witnessing some of Nicaragua’s best cacao farmers in action!
